Week 3, May 5 - May 11

For the week
Distance ridden: 385 miles
Time riding: 33:30:43
Ascent: 12,430 feet

For the tour
Distance ridden: 1,128 miles
Time riding: 100:35:01
Ascent: 30,687 feet

I have no idea where I took this picture, but it is quite typical of the week, spent almost entirely in Indiana and Illinois. This is a Casey's, a convenience store you see a lot in the towns we ride through. They serve really good coffee, doughnuts, frozen pizza, and brisket sliders, and of course they have everything else you expect at a convenience store.

As noted in other posts, many towns have nowhere to buy things. In many other towns, Casey's is the only place to buy things. In fact when I Googled "restaurants in Coffeen", Casey's came up first. We spent the week in search of Casey's, because we knew nothing else existed along our route.

Well, that's not quite true. Usually, if a town has a Casey's, it also has a Dollar General.
